It all began when Dean Curtis and Paul Swy
incorporated their small business under the roof
of an old barn in Bedford Township, Michigan.
Back then, as Michigan Tube Swagers, they were
strictly a metal fabricator, producing steel
chair and table legs and parts for the
automotive and aircraft markets.
In the early ‘60s, finished chair and table
frames became a part of the product line, and by
mid-decade MTS was assembling complete chairs.
Upholstery, fiberglass seat shells and table
tops were outsourced and finished product was
supplied to the private label market. By the
early ‘70s, upholstery was brought in-house and
the MTS Seating line was introduced. Our product
line has grown steadily since then, and
continues to grow today.
From the early days as tube swagers to our
current 300,000 square foot, state-of-the-art,
manufacturing facilities in Temperance,
Michigan, MTS has built a reputation for
producing the best-built, best-backed chairs in
the industry. Today, our hospitality seating and
tables can be found from coast to coast.
From the grandest restaurant to the trendiest
lounges, the busiest convention halls to the
most elegant guest rooms. MTS provides total
seating solutions, with an unparalleled package
of design, performance, comfort, value and
service.
